This unique tile cutter design by Spanish engineers has earned the trust of tilers over its long production run. It is built on a metal body – a table with a good paint finish. Under the table, on a slope, sit galvanised gutters for the coolant. The liquid runs down into a bucket and from there the pump feeds it into the cutting zone. The 200 mm blade mounts straight onto the motor on good clamping flanges. The flanges are centred and keep runout (wobble) on the diamond rim of the blade to a minimum. The motor is rigidly fixed to the carriage to minimise any deflection under load when cutting a 45 degree mitre. Thanks to the good flanges, the rigid carriage mount and the 200 mm blade, the cutter handles a 45 degree chamfer (mitre joint) with ease. The carriage runs along the guide (rail) on 4 horizontally mounted bearings. The bearings carry plastic caps so the rail is not damaged (worn) in the course of work. The mains lead, the pump lead and the water hose are run inside a conduit so they do not get in the way while you work. Water is fed onto the blade from both sides for cooling, which is very handy. The legs fold under the table, lock there and stay out of the way in storage and transport. The cutter has wheels and a handle so one man can move it around the site. Though it weighs so little that one man can carry it a short distance anyway, it is very light. And that is an important advantage. I should say that if you wash the dirt out of the internal gutter every day, servicing (cleaning) is not needed at all.
