The headline feature is the automatic carriage feed. The first thing you notice about the SHIJING SJ-ZD 9231 1200 electric tile cutter is the way it is built – aluminium is used wherever possible in the frame, and the screws are stainless. That is why these machines are completely unaffected by the aggressive environment they work in.

Design features.

A powerful 2300 W motor turning at 13 000 rpm lets you reach a high cutting speed without resorting to large diameter blades. The machine runs a Ø115 mm blade, and that diameter is enough for a clean, high quality cut. Because the drive is by belt, cutting depth is up to 30 mm.

The SHIJING SJ 1200 has enough motor to let you mount a chamfering blade alongside the cutting blade, so you do two jobs in one pass – cut, and take the chamfer off.

The small diameter blades available on the market let the SJ series cut all sorts of finishing materials – from laminate (with a carbide-tipped saw) to marble, granite and even glass – and also shape the cut face any way you like and strip the matt coating off tile when making stair treads.

A great deal of work went into the water cooling and the dust control. Separate tanks are used for dirty and clean water, which extends the working life of the pump. The cutting zone has an extra guard, so you can work even inside an occupied flat – with the SJ series running there is practically no dust.

As always, SHIJING has thought the transport side of its machines through – the layout lets you switch from working to transport position quickly and wheel the machine away on two castors.
