Official Wandeli QX-1200 cutters have finally started arriving in Ukraine. These cutters have been in demand for a long time, and now you can finally buy one with a warranty behind it. People call them the Mercedes of tile cutters. Below I will list its strong and weak points, which should help you choose. One thing I will say straight away: in my opinion it is made for INDIVIDUAL, careful use, for tilers working in flats.

For industrial sites it needs to be used sparingly, on the hardest chamfer-cutting jobs.

Strong points:
– light weight and compact size;
– it takes small 115 – 125 mm blades, which do not bend;
– high rotation speed of 12000 rpm, which gives a clean cut;
– since most of the parts are aluminium and stainless steel, it holds up well against corrosion;
– it does many operations: straight cut, 45 degree cut, groove cut, micro-chamfer cut, bullnose chamfer cut;
– plenty of attachments in the box: side stops with rulers for both sides, laser, small stops and so on;
– rigid carriage;
– the blade rises 13 mm above the surface (115 mm blade).

Weak points:
– brushed motor;
– poor splash protection.

Advantages of the Wandeli QX-1200 tile cutter:

• high revs of 12000 rpm together with a good blade give an excellent cut in porcelain stoneware, both straight and for chamfering (a cut at 45 degrees);
• all parts of the cutter are made of aluminium and stainless steel, which makes the construction long-lived;
• a rich package that includes a side stop (three kinds !!!), end and diagonal stops, a two-sided side support for the tile, extra legs, 2 blades included, an adapter for connecting water from a tap, plenty of spanners, a spare nozzle.
• the blade can be raised above the table surface, which lets you cut into the middle of a tile or cut it part way through;
• horizontal steel rollers run on stainless steel rods soldered into the heavy guide. This gives the construction long life and high rigidity in the rail;
• the guide is closed from below by a film that runs on two rollers at the start and the end of the guide, which keeps dirt out of the rollers;
• an adjustable, bright laser speeds up cutting the tile;
• the pump, the motor and the laser switch on separately, which is convenient;
• high power of 1250 W (measured) will cut through 20 mm porcelain stoneware in one pass;
• water is fed into the cutting area by a modern 12 V centrifugal pump (lift height 9 m !!!), and that is what makes it safe;
• the water line to the cutting area, the mains cable and the pump cable are all laid inside a “snake” that does not get in the way;
• folded up, it rolls easily around the site on its wheels.
