The Vulkan 920 mm is a traditional Chinese electric tile cutter built on proven solutions. Where it beats the competition:
1) the motor is a plunge design, so it is easy to start a cut, to work through in several passes, to nick a cut at the end or in the middle;
2) it has a solid trough that serves as the bath for the coolant and as the mount for the guide rail;
3) the 230 mm blade diameter and the 1200 W motor are enough for a straight cut in 11 mm porcelain stoneware in a single pass. With specialised blades and the right setup it will take a 45 degree chamfer;
4) it has a side extension for cutting wide tile;
5) the guide has been reworked with lengthwise lips and 6 special bearings that stop diagonal movement. The carriage is easy to adjust. The carriage bearings want to be clean and greased. When you buy, I recommend a grease that has proved itself on the job;
6) the water feed into the cutting zone does not ask the hose to climb far, so the pump it comes with is enough;
7) the two table tops lift off easily so the trough can be cleaned out quickly and easily;
8) the table tops are rubber covered, which cuts the noise and stops the tile sliding.
