Nuova Battipav LEGGERA 67, 92, 137 manual tile cutter

A very successful, simple, dependable and long-lived tile cutter for cutting tile of different sizes. To my mind it is a stripped-down version of the Battipav PROFI EVO: no feet, no legs, no clamping pads, no proper ruler, the handle has no pad, no spare scoring wheel. In principle the cutter works like the Sigma series 3 or the Rubi TP. It is an impact-type cutter, where most of the breaking is done by micro-blows. The cutter stands out for how incredibly light it is. It is the lightest cutter in its class. The cutter has a very well finished monorail that is guaranteed to serve for years. The rail is 50 mm wide and 10 mm thick, which is enough for a straight cut. The handle has two bearings, top and bottom. At the sides the aluminium handle rubs against the steel rail. The rail is very securely fixed in the base and needs no adjusting of any kind. The handle sets itself to whatever thickness of tile you have. An aluminium breaker is fitted to the handle and can break along the whole length of the cut. A medium sized scoring wheel is fitted to the carriage – 15 mm, which suits most tiles. A metal rod runs the whole length of the cutter, and the tile breaks over it, which makes the base last longer.
