This SHIJING 1352 carries on the work the designers at the Chinese firm SHIJING have been doing on better hand tools for large-format tile. The body follows the shape of the earlier Rubi HIT 1200 models, which have already proved themselves, but it is now made of hard molybdenum alloy.

Features of the SHIJING 1352:

• The working surface is faced with glued rubber pads, harder on the outside, in the contact zone with the tile, and porous nearer the surface of the body.
• A steel rod insert in the body under the breaker takes the load well and gives a clean break along the scored line.
• Sturdy table extensions of good aluminium profile hold the tile securely over its whole area, and the angle stop, fitted onto the extensions, makes it easy to set the tile up for a diagonal cut.
• The usual excellent huge side stop.

The guide rail is built as two solid cylindrical tubes, plainly borrowed from RUBI – a solution worth copying. From that follows the matching carriage shape and the cutting behaviour typical of RUBI – smooth and without extra effort. Rated cutting depth – up to fifteen mm for ceramic and up to 11 for porcelain stoneware.

The SHIJING 1352 comes with a 22 mm tungsten carbide disc scoring wheel on a bearing, which gives it up to twenty thousand metres of good scoring. The wheel holder is built to take wheels of other sizes and lets you use wheels from other makers, depending on how hard the tile you are working is.

The SHIJING 1352 has a green laser cut-line pointer on the front upright, powered from a battery pack, and it can also run on two AA batteries. A charger for the battery pack is included.
