The SHIJING 3051 manual monorail tile cutter with a laser pointer is today one of the popular cutters in the manual monorail line with a 1200 mm cut length.

A plain metal body, stiffened by a single crosswise rib together with a long side stop on the table, keeps the tile squarely in place. Double rubber pads clamp and hold the tile tight in the cutting zone. A steel cylindrical insert running the full length of the cutting zone shapes the break geometry cleanly.

The breaker is built so that the break can only be made with the carriage in its starting position, which is a bit awkward when you cut deep tile.

The table extensions carry an angle stop for diagonal cutting and are attached to the body; they fold away quickly and easily, which cuts the chance of damaging or losing them in transport and makes the cutter compact and easy to carry.

The carriage guide is made from solid steel bar 12×45 mm in section, with the working faces ground. The way the guide is mounted in the posts allows the post itself to be adjusted relative to the table. The carriage is metal and massive; it runs along the guide on eighteen radial bearings – eight on each side of the guide, two underneath and two on top, which lets you set the scoring wheel very precisely relative to the line of cut.

A laser pointer on the front post makes it easy to follow where the wheel is. The carriage also has a spring mechanism with three height settings for the scoring wheel, for working material of different thickness – from 7 to 16 mm. The 22x5x6 mm tungsten carbide scoring wheel guarantees a long working life – up to 10 000 m of cut, and is easy to reach for a quick change.
