Sigma Kera-Cut EXT 8AE2 Rail System

The Sigma Kera-Cut EXT 8AE2 is a professional tool for cutting large format tile and porcelain stoneware. Sigma is the benchmark every other maker is measured against, but it has its strengths and its weak points. The kit includes 2 rails 172 cm each, a cover, a carriage with a 12 mm scoring wheel, a tile breaker, 3 suction cups and a case. The two rails join together with a massive hex bar held by bolts, plus two locating pins. The case is included, handy and roomy, with the carriage, the suction cups and the tile breaker inside. The carriage runs along the rails on plastic rollers on bearings, which extends its service life. The carriage is a down-pressure type and locks into the grooves of the rollers. Depending on the tile, you can fit 12 mm or 19 mm scoring wheels. The carriage lets you change the pressure, with the lever or without it, depending on the thickness and the hardness of the tile. Good suction cups hold the rail firmly on the face of the tile. On the underside the rails are rubber-lined, so they do not slip, do not leave marks, do not scratch the tile and keep the nasty noises away. Kera-Cut rails are very stiff, so there is no flexing while you cut. The rails are made of light but very hard aluminium. The tile breaker in the kit is simple, light, middling, but it does its job on tile up to 10 mm thick. For tile that will not give in to a hand scoring wheel there is the Kera-Flex attachment, which runs on the same rail. For slabs of different lengths, and simply for convenience, you can add the 50 cm extension, which is sold separately. For repeat cutting there is a set of swivel mounts, art. 38F5 (not included).
