Shijing 3721 manual tile cutter

The smallest in this series of cutters.
The series takes in the following cutters:

• Shijing 3721 L = 850 mm – 8000 UAH
• Shijing 3751 L = 1270 mm – 12000 UAH
• Shijing 3761 L = 1670 mm – 13950 UAH

Cutters in this series give you the simplest and easiest score and break there is. It feels as though even a child could cut tile on one.

Advantages:

• the base is made of extruded aluminium, which makes it light and strong;
• a huge number of bearings keeps the carriage rigid on the rail with no play;
• the carriage is self-adjusting so that it will score tile of different thicknesses;
• the oversized handle makes both scoring and breaking easy, even on difficult tile;
• it has side supports with markings for convenience;
• it has a very handy side stop, which gives a clean cut on a run of tile;
• it has a good scoring wheel on a bearing with an enormous service life;
• it has a green laser that helps you mark the tile out before the score;

What is particular about the Shijing 3721:

• The Shijing 3721 manual tile cutter ships in two versions:
  1. an aluminium breaking rib, cast in one piece with reinforcement in the main breaking zone.
  2. a steel bar set into a groove.

Which version is better – I do not know, because both have their pluses and minuses.

Please note the following about these cutters:

• the guide rail is made from tube with a 3 mm wall;
• the finish on the rails is Chinese, not comparable with European work;
• this cutter is the hardest to set up of any I know;
• on 1200 mm tile the score bows out (bellies) when you are cutting really difficult tile.
