Sigma Jolly Edge 37A1D Chamfer Slider

Description

The Sigma Jolly Edge 37A1D slider is the best and the most expensive slider out there. It can do the following:
– chamfering (mitre joint) at 45 degrees (from 35 to 55 degrees) with a 115 – 125 mm blade;
– cutting a convex chamfer with a finger bit (the bit is supplied separately).
The slider comes with a good Sigma blade 115 mm in diameter.
Worth saying that if there are no thickened sections you can run 125 mm blades. Blades with a wide reinforced flange should be 115 mm.
What sets the Sigma Jolly Edge 37A1D slider apart is the adapter coupling. The adapter coupling is better because it gives the blade a better seat and the attack angle is set once and holds for a long time. The attack angle is usually set at about 3 degrees.
Every angle grinder on the market fits the slider, but my advice is to fit one from a known brand. If you plan to cut only the chamfer in porcelain stoneware up to 12 mm thick, then 600 – 900 W will be enough. If you plan to work the convex chamfer, then you need a stronger angle grinder, 900 – 1200 W with speed control. Do not chase powerful grinders, the more power, the more vibration and the more the tool weighs.
To make cutting the convex chamfer easier you can buy stops and other extras on top.
